It is once again time to hold our annual refresher training and data review for our synoptic stream and lake volunteers who survey Six Mile Creek! These trainings happen annually for quality assurance, to make sure all our volunteers are on the same page, and to address any questions or concerns that have come up about our sampling. They are also a great way for volunteers to build community with each other and get to know CSI’s other water protectors. We are still looking for volunteers to join this (and other) monitoring group(s), so don’t be shy if you are interested in joining us! This training will take place via zoom.
If you would like to join this monitoring group, please reach out to Grascen Shidemantle at info@communityscience.org.

When: Thursdays, 5:30-8:30 PM, from November 3 through the Spring (not Thanksgiving)

Biomonitoring Open Lab Nights are a chance for volunteers to participate in benthic macroinvertebrate sample sorting and analysis of stream samples collected over the summer! No prior experience is required and there are things to do at any level of expertise. Volunteers separate organisms from gravel and other stream substrate material and then sort and identify them to family level. These organism counts help us evaluate water quality in streams based on what lives there. Anyone wanting to participate should reach out to Adrianna in advance (adrianna@
