Join the Community Science Institute and Discover Cayuga Lake for an exploration of water quality on Cayuga Lake! For the 14th year running, CSI’s 4-H2O Program will be partnering with the Floating Classroom to collect and analyze water samples across Cayuga Lake. Participants will learn how to collect water samples, including samples from 150’ down in the lake, and will analyze them while on board the Floating Classroom’s brand new boat, the M.V. Teal. This is a great chance to participate in real scientific data collection and view the lake from a different perspective!
We will set sail from the Allen H. Treman Marina on Friday, August 16th, at 9:00 AM. Please arrive at the dock by 8:45 AM so we can get you checked in and learn your names. The cruise is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Bring along a snack, sunscreen, a few extra layers, and anything else you’ll want for a morning out on the lake.
This event is FREE. Contact nathaniel.launer@communityscience.org or call (607) 257-6606 to make a reservation and for more details. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
